Strive For ReEntry Success

Many of those involved in the SC justice system are struggling in the journey to stay out. Why is this?

Most are returning to the same environment that paved the way to the current lifestyle, as some are entering new environments with the same mentality. I have had the privilege to speak with those currently incarcerated in the Dept. Of Corrections. I am working to establish a platform providing them with various opportunities for continued success upon reentry. As we know that the famous saying it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes the entire village to prevent recidivism.

Have you or someone you know been previously incarcerated or have been impacted by incarceration? I want to hear from you.

Shame and guilt can paralize us and keep us in bondage. But not Jeff Anderson, I was holding my frst group, I was wondering if anyone was going to show up. It was at the Moncks Corner Library and he was sitting there wondering what we were doing. I explained to him the importance of the group and he decided he would join us. At that moment I was watvhing God work. Not knowing that he would be my first success story since I came clean myself.

I told him the requirements and what he needed to do to recieve the assitnce that I provided and work the program, He did just that. Jeff was homeless living in a tent. on probation didnt really have the necessities to make it but he pressed his way through and made it to group. We began to work together to get him job ready,
